Have you ever needed to email someone a big file? A file so big your email service refused to send it or your recipient couldn’t open it? Large attachments can cause problems. You could use a service such as Dropbox to share the file. But even if you have a Dropbox account, sharing the file requires a few steps. Here’s another way to easily and quickly share large files.
WeTransfer is an ad-supported site where you can send files up to 2GB for free. Files are not stored on the site. WeTransfer simply acts as a temporary station to transfer your file to the intended person. With this service you get email transfers to up to 10 people. You can also use a link transfer to generate a link you can send to as many people as you want (under the ellipsis symbol). Transfers expire after 7 days. You fill out a simple form to send the file.
You don’t need to register to use the service. You will need to verify your email to confirm the send or you can set up a free account if you plan to use the service more often.
